I set out on my yoga path half a life ago when I found yoga at the Shivananda Ashram in Munich. I was then initiated into Yoga at the Yoga Sivananda Yoga Ashram on the Bahamas. There I spent an inspiring and life changing winter doing my Asana, Chanting and Meditiation. Since then I have studied with many known and unknown teachers all over the planet who all inspired and influenced my life and so of course my practice and teaching deeply. In my asana teaching I draw from a wide exprience in yoga styles †amongst others Asthanga, Shiva Rea's Fluid Power and Jivamukti. I individually adapt the classes to my students age and body type. My classes are basically all vinyasa style which means that the movements are following and profiting from the breath as it is only the breath that will link the mind to the body and bring about the harmony that every body expects of yoga. My classes vary widely in challenge and pace with regards to my students as my concern is to allow for a harmonious group energy as well as offering the individual a profound experience.
I feel inspiration through practice leads us to do whatever we do in full awareness and with our hearts. So we can always return to that place where 'independently from outer circumstance' we will find peace: within our hearts. Many times we'll meet obstacles on this path: our intellect, our body, our expectations and preferences. Yoga gives us the possibility to free ourselves from these hindrances that keep us from experiencing our true nature - that, what we really are: free, wild, full of love and joy without conditioning, without fear. I'm most thankful for all circumstances in my life that gave me the chance to experience this feeling of unity, of non-separateness to eventually learn to accept the greatest of all teachers: life itself.
For me Yoga Asana Practice should fulfill one purpose: to allow EveryBody to feel their own body, their own breath, their own reality †to eventually be able to reach out and connect to other people and ultimately to their intimate partners to feel the non-separatedness that Yoga describes in all life.
I live and teach in Munich and Zürich where I teach public and private classes and I organize retreats in Greece and India several times a year. I have a partner, his name is Andrß¡s.
